Nowadays young people prefer to live in cities and big towns, older people on the other hand prefer to stay in the countryside. This is so because;

Cities provide so many opportunities for the youths, such as career growth, personal development and recreation. Youths are full of energy and are eager to accomplish things and they want to live their life to the fullest. Major cities have entertainment hubs, shopping malls and modern transport systems.

People migrate from villages to urban centers in search of jobs and other opportunities. Cities make it possible for the youths to earn enough to achieve their financial goals and investments.

The countryside limits opportunities for the youths. In most rural areas there are no factories, industries or offices that offer employment. Most people in these areas engage in farming and other related activities. Educated and ambitious young people are not interested in these activities.

On the other hand, most seniors feel an irresistible need to stay connected to their roots. Most of them are not exactly looking for career growth and have little interest in shopping or parting. They seek peace and serenity. Rural areas are less polluted than cities. The clean air is more beneficial to seniors who have less immunity. After working in cities for many years they feel the need to spend their twilight years in the serene surroundings of the countryside.

In conclusion, our needs influence our life choices and preferences. When we are young, we need employment and financial security, hence move to cities and big towns to satisfy these needs. When we are older we seek peace and proximity to our old friends and family, hence move to the countryside
