The park lies in Central Kenya, 160 kilometers north-west of Nairobi, in Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province)

Lake Nakuru National Park is a world class bird watching safari destination and fondly referred to as the bird watchers paradise The park has more than 25 black rhinoceros plus around 70 white rhinos. There are also a number of Rothschild’s giraffe, Waterbuck, lion, cheetah and leopard. The park also has large sized pythons.

As well as flamingos, Lake Nakuru National Park has a myriad other bird species that inhabit the lake and the area surrounding it, such as African fish eagle, goliath heron, hamerkop, pied kingfisher and verreaux eagle.

DAY 1: NAIROBI – DRIVE TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

0800 Hours: Pick up from your Nairobi residential home and your 2 days safari begins with a drive north to Lake Nakuru National park, Have a stopover at Lake Naivasha for some brief review and view of lake Naivasha then proceed to Nakuru and enter the Nakuru National park through Lanet gate and proceed with game viewing en-route to The great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort for lunch. After Lunch and Check in procedures you will have your Afternoon game drive at lake Nakuru.

Lake Nakuru is known as a Ramsar bird site specifically founded for the protection of the black and white rhino. It is also a home for more than 450 species of birds including the lesser and greater flamingos, pelicans, African fish eagles and many others.Back to the hotel at 1700hrs to freshen up and dinner.

The lodge sits at about 7,000 feet, from which elevation it enjoys magnificent views to the west and east. The vistas stretch from the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha to the jagged volcanic crater of Mount Longonot and, beyond, the sloping shoulders of the Aberdare Mountains – Kenya’s most important watershed.

DAY 2: EXPLORE LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
An early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of rhino found in the park, returning before lunch. Drive to Nakuru Sopa For Lunch then the afternoon is at leisure, relaxing by the lodge swimming pool before an evening game drive in the park.

DAY 3: LAKE NAKURU – DRIVE TO NAIROBI

Early morning game drives and after breakfast have some relaxing time at the hotel that will be followed by a transfer by road back to Nairobi at your own time.
